I had finished repainting the mine tunnel using HeatRoll. I had even vacuumed up afterwards using FreshVac, which had also resulted in the mine smelling really fresh. Just as I was wondering what I needed to do next, I suddenly received a phone call.
It was Jenny.
She was extremely glad that I had answered the phone.
“I’m extremely glad you answered the phone,” she said, putting into words exactly what she was thinking.
I started to explain to her what had been happening with the high temperature in the magma and everything, but she didn’t want to hear that.
“I don’t want to hear that,” she said. “I want to know where George is.”
That was interesting, as I didn’t know where George was, but I had assumed that if anyone was going to know where George was it would be Jenny... or perhaps George.
I thought about suggesting to Jenny that she come to the mine at once, but before I could say it she said, “I’m going to come to the mine at once.”
Soon enough, she arrived. I wouldn’t say it was exactly at once, but it was quite quick. About five minutes, I’d guess.

She seemed very agitated. She couldn’t find Zargoid 5 anywhere and now she couldn’t find George.
I told her that Dennis was out looking for Zargoid 5, so I wasn’t worried about that. She looked like she might not think much of the whole Dennis-finding-Zargoid-5 plan, but in the end she seemed to think she was more worried about George going missing.
“I’m more worried about George going missing. At least Zargoid 5 told us he was going on holiday, whereas George said he was going to a really important business meeting right after he accidentally bought your mine from you.”
Yes, I remembered that very important business meeting. I had felt sorry for George having to go to it at the time.
I also remembered George accidentally buying my mine.
What with having to go to an important business meeting, accidentally buying my mine and now going missing, he wasn’t having a particularly good time.
I wondered if maybe we should try and find him, but before I could say anything to Jenny she said, “We should try and find George.”
Which suddenly seemed like a really good idea to me.
While it seemed like a good idea to go and find him, I was also starting to get a bit concerned. Zargoid 5 was missing, George was missing, Dennis was away from home and FreshVac was still not very good.
I decided to do what I should have done first thing this morning, which was reach for a pair of CalmKnit. I excused myself briefly from Jenny and went and fetched two pairs, one for me and one for her.
I started to explain to her what they were, but before I could she said, “CalmKnit are a pair of high-performance knitwear socks with inbuilt calming smells which are released whenever they detect any form of stress.”
I mean, I knew this, but I was impressed she did too.
I was just about to make a suggestion to her when she said, “Let’s put the CalmKnit on, then we’ll be more relaxed about finding George.”
I thought about warning her about the one drawback of CalmKnit, but just before I said anything she continued.
“I know we probably won’t have time to watch a movie while we’re trying to find George, unless we’re on a long flight, but if we are then we might want to take off our CalmKnit during any scary bits, as they can detect the stress, overreact and send you to sleep.”
It was a good point.
Or you could go my preferred route and keep the CalmKnit on and simply not watch films with scary bits.
I was about to say to Jenny, “Get yours today!”... but I realised she was already ahead of me on that too, as I had already given her a pair.
But you should get a pair too!
Note to self: Perhaps consider a version called AlertKnit for when you don’t mind being a bit more awake but don’t want to drink another coffee?
