There was only one way to get back my mine. Money. Specifically enough money to buy it back from George. How was I going to get it?
As I arrived back at my house, I realised that there was no power in the house at all. Had I forgotten to pay the electricity bill? Did I have enough money to pay the electricity bill?
While it had been daytime quite recently it was already starting to get quite dark. Before it got to be fully nighttime, I quickly found my LumaLedger. It was the ideal device to deal with both problems.
I fired up the torch element and it immediately and brightly shone light all around, meaning that I wasn’t scared at all. Not that I get scared of the dark of course. All I’m saying is that if you were the kind of person who does get scared of the dark (ie. Not like me who, as I’ve clearly said does not get scared of the dark) then having a torch like this would be very reassuring.
I also took a moment to examine the digital display on the side of the torch, it of course was faithfully recording my entire financial position and could easily show that I had indeed paid the electricity bill and that I was on the way to raising enough funds to buy back my mine (although not close enough for my liking).
The only problem with the LunaLedger is that when you get close to achieving your financial ambitions it does get a bit excited and put on a flashing strobe light effect which can be inconvenient when you are trying to make a major financial transaction (or even buy a sandwich). I’m afraid to say it was not doing the strobe light effect. It did not think I was close to buying my mine back.
Now I had a firm grasp of my financial situation and with the reassurance of having some light and it not being dark, not that I’m scared of it being dark, but I’m just explaining that it wasn’t dark because the light was shining from the torch… then I felt a little more able to turn my mind to what else could have caused the power to fail.
And then I got it! Of course! The master switch for the power to my house was in the mine. I mean obviously, where else would you put it?
I assume when George closed the mine he must have turned everything off. And somehow didn’t realise that one of the switches was actually the master switch to all the electricity in my house. I had installed that master switch for all the obvious convenience benefits it would bring. never once thinking about the inconvenience it could bring in the unlikely scenario of somebody else using the light switch controls.
So, if you are saving up to buy a mine, one of my inventions, or a less important thing and you want to also be able to see where you are going and ensure it isn’t scary in the dark then get a LunaLedger right now!
Note to self: Invent a backup power system for the house. Not for me, obviously. For visitors who are scared of the dark. Which, as previously established, I am not.
