Now admittedly I was in a little bit of a pickle, in that I may have accidentally sold my mine to George. However, George was in a bit of a gherkin himself because although he now owned my mine, he still hadn't managed to break into my vault and retrieve the master plans needed to continue drilling to the centre of the Earth.
So we both had our problems.
But my problems were worse because the floor in my kitchen needed cleaning. But it wasn’t a problem for me as I have SoapSteps.
SoapSteps are a pair of high-performance walking sandals which contain a vessel of highly concentrated soap which can be deployed to any floor as you walk. Creating the ultimate way to wash your kitchen floor, or any other floor you happen to be walking on.
Now you might be nervous about the fact that the SoapSteps are sandal based. Do not worry they have automatic detectors within them which stop them from working if you attempt to wear them with socks.
Just as I was about three quarters of the way through cleaning my kitchen… this is a really good way to get your step count up… I heard a noise by the front door of the mine and I saw George emerging from the front of the mine.
By the time I got there he was hammering a sign above the door…
…he had closed the mine.
This was absolutely disastrous for my plans to drill into the centre of the Earth, and also equally problematic for my plans to clean my kitchen floor, as in the rush to find out what was going on I had kept wearing my SoapSteps, and in a valiant attempt to clean the outside world the SoapSteps had discharged all of their soap as I was walking to the mine entrance.
I looked behind me to see a shiny clean and very polished looking path… outside. A squirrel and a bee were both investigating it, and each was looking very confused. I know you’d be able to identify a confused squirrel but if you aren’t sure about confused bees that’s easy… they’re always confused.
George said he had to leave to go to a very important business meeting elsewhere, and I headed back to my kitchen with no mine and no soap. It was a pretty tricky situation.
Now while the SoapSteps do not function well at cleaning the outside world they do wonders at cleaning your house, and of course they stop you from accidentally committing fashion disasters. You should get a pair today!
Note to self: Consider extending the sock detecting system to also detect if the SoapSteps are outside.
