The Weekly Inventions of
Dr Splatterjacket

A desk chair with wheels is sitting in front of a desk. The desk has a draw containing a pad of paper, and two troughs containing pencils and erasers. The structure holding up the back of the chair is a giant pencil.

Now that the mining had begun in earnest, I was finally able to relax a bit.

It seemed only fair.

The miners were mining, and my closest rival Zargoid 5 was on holiday relaxing, so things were looking pretty calm and there was definitely nothing to worry about.

I decided to visit Dennis, my pet gerbil, and I immediately realised he needed to relax.

He was going round his wheel faster than a sock in a WashCharge.

And as you know WashCharge washes your entire load of clothes in just 1 minute.

Dennis was clearly nervous about something, but he shouldn’t have been. For some reason he had just never taken to George, which was silly given George had bought those 5,000 WashRides and all that money was helping to fund the latest mining activity.

Maybe he was worried that over the years I have invented three different kinds of washing machines, because who can forget WashDry? I hope you haven’t.

Yes, it was probably that which was upsetting him. So, with that all sorted and my mind resting easy because I knew I was very unlikely to invent a fourth kind of washing machine today, I decided to put Dennis’s concerns completely from my mind.

Just as I succeeded in putting Dennis’s concerns completely from my mind, my phone rang. It was Jenny.

Jenny is on her phone while sitting at her desk in a fancy office with a laptop in front of her on her desk. In the other half of the image is Dr Splatterjacket who is also on the phone but from his lab.

She was ringing me with entirely new concerns.

She explained that Zargoid 5’s sudden decision to go on holiday and stop mining did not seem like him at all. She also thought it really seemed odd that he had not just flown there under his own power but instead went by aeroplane.

I explained that the rockets in his feet were in for repair at the rocket shop. So no problem there. I also explained that the reason he’d decided to go on holiday was because he was so far ahead. Again, no problem.

I told her I wasn’t worried or suspicious at all.

Jenny seemed to think that Zargoid 5 could have just waited until his rockets were repaired and this sudden decision to go on holiday might mean somebody else was controlling him. It all sounded very ridiculous.

I mean nobody loves mining into the centre of the Earth more than me, but even now I was having to take a well-earned break. I mean the mining operations had commenced over 30 minutes ago… come on!

I explained all of this to Jenny but she still seemed concerned. I told her not to worry, but to call me back if anything new or suspicious happened. She agreed, and we hung up.

So, both Dennis and Jenny were worried… but me? No way.

I don’t worry about anything.

And even if I did, I can always calm myself down with my latest invention SketchSeat.

SketchSeat is a combination seat with everything you need to do some relaxing sketching. It has a built-in draw under the seat, side trays with pencils and erasers and best of all…

…is the backrest detaches and turns out to be a giant functional pencil.

(you do need to be a bit careful not to fall off the seat at this point).

You may be using SketchControl, my incredible combination pencil and remote control, and that’s great but it isn’t giant like this pencil. And I don’t know if you have noticed… but I have some pretty big ideas.

So, to completely distract myself from all of these worried people I sat down on my SketchSeat and spent 7 hours drawing kittens. Oddly the kittens seemed to look quite a lot like Dennis, Jenny, Zargoid 5 and George… I wonder why.

If your ideas are too enormous for ordinary pencils, then get a SketchSeat today!

Note to self: They couldn’t be right, could they? Nah.
