A man is holding a kind of hammer with a display on it. He’s smiling despite there clearly being a leak in a water pipe with water spirting out. In close up we see a better view of the hammer which has a digital display, mentioning that it is a leak detector and that it is called a FlowHammer.

FlowHammer

As Zargoid 5 and I walked into the next chamber, I thought again about my wheezing colleague who I’m sure was sorting himself out by using the WheezyTweezers… my mind couldn’t help dwelling on the ridiculous “alternative theory” of Zargoid 5 about some kind of “Sulphuric Acid Gas” floating in the air.

The reason I was so sure it wasn’t a problem was because I was carrying in my pocket (as I always do) my trusty FlowHammer.

A FlowHammer is a rugged hammer with an integrated leak detection and flow regulation system. The hammer head is forged carbon steel with a matte finish, while the ergonomic handle is fitted with a small waterproof digital display and leak detection sensors. The handle also features a detachable, adjustable fluid spout attachment that can be extended for temporary fluid (or gas) redirection. The thing that made me so confident there hadn’t been a Sulphuric Gas leak? The FlowHammer hadn’t gone off in my pocket.

I took the FlowHammer out to show to Zargoid 5, as I thought it might help build his confidence up after that unfortunate incident where he had misdiagnosed the problem with the miner, and noticed that the FlowHammer had accidentally been left in the “off” position to save batteries. I turned it “on” and it immediately detected a brand-new leak of Sulphuric Acid in the air.

I FlowHammered away for a few moments on a nearby “Sulphuric Gas” pipe that had recently sprung a leak and very shortly everything was fixed. Obviously, a bit of a funny coincidence that the leak started just as I turned on my FlowHammer but these things do happen, and I concluded this leak was completely unrelated to the previous idea of a leak that Zargoid 5 had mentioned. At any rate at least the miner would have cleaner nostrils now which is a boon either way.

If you have burst Sulphuric Acid pipes in your house, or even water pipes that might burst in the future then you need a FlowHammer to detect and fix any pipe related emergency you are ever in.

Note to self: Maybe remove the on/off switch and power the FlowHammer with nuclear power for an “always on” experience.
