DishShades

27th September 2025

Right after my lecture to Zargoid 5 concluded he mentioned that he wanted to show me some of the changes he had made to the outside of his mine to allow for bigger mining equipment. This sounded very interesting to me. Obviously, I had previously made similar adjustments to my mine, so I did not expect to learn anything, but I was interested to see how a less gifted person would solve the problem.

He took me up to the main entrance and just after I stepped outside of the main doors, something must have happened with the wind because the door immediately slammed behind me with Zargoid 5 on the other side. I assumed the door would soon open, but clearly the effect of the slam must have damaged the door mechanism as it had become locked shut.

I wondered around in the mid-morning heat of the Sahara desert for a while looking to see if there was another entrance but there didn’t seem to be one. It was most confusing. As it came to lunchtime I thought I better sit down in the mid-day sun and have a bit of lunch, luckily I had my SawPack with me. So, I opened it up and tried to see inside. Sadly, with the bright sunlight I couldn’t see anything, I rummaged around for my ScrewShades but instead found something even better for this occasion DishShades.

ScrewShades might be the ultimate sunglasses for the situation where you need to repair something physical, but when the thing you need to repair is your hunger you need DishShades. What are DishShades?

DishShades are a solar powered micro vibrating dishwasher integrated straight into your Sunglasses. That means that when you are wearing them you always have exactly the cutlery and plates that you need, as long as what you need is a tiny knife, a tiny fork, and a plate that can fit around 7 peas on it. On one side you find the chamber for the knife and fork, the other side holds the plate which makes the DishShades perfectly balanced from side to side, from front to back you will notice that the DishShades add a little extra weight to the front of your head versus the back of your head, but what price tiny clean cutlery?

Using the DishShades I looked into my SawPack and pulled out a picnic blanket and a cold collation of meats and cheeses that I had been storing in my PreserveDeck, I pulled them out and piled them on my tiny plate and set to work eating them while playing a game of Solitaire with the card from the PreserveDeck. Afterwards I placed the cutlery and plate back into the dishwasher compartments of my DishShades and the micro vibrating dishwashers kicked into action. This made my head vibrate in a way that I decided was pleasant.

Do you sometimes need cutlery and a plate while trying to shield your eyes from the sun? Of course you do. Buy a pair of DishShades today!

Note to self: Next time you travel to the desert remember to bring water with you.
