The Weekly Inventions of
Dr Splatterjacket

A folder is sitting on a desk it has papers inside, on the front is a digital screen which has an example list showing a shopping list.

SmartFolder

30th August 2025

I’d lost Dennis, I’d lost all of my money, and now there was the danger of me losing my mine. I went to my mine to remind myself of the stakes. I couldn’t lose the mine…

Dr Splatterjacket is standing in his mine looking around amazed and also worried he might lose it.

Drilling to the centre of the Earth was going to be the crowning achievement of my career. People had stood on top of mountains, people had even been to the Moon, but had anyone stood at the centre of the Earth? No of course not… and worse if I lost even a day in drilling then Zargoid 5 would get there first.

I knew that keeping track of all of the things that I loved about my mine might be difficult in the face of what I had to do, or it would be for a normal like you, but at least I had my SmartFolder. SmartFolder is a device that allows you keep track of papers, receipts and any lists in one handy device. You simply insert any paper items into the folder like you normally would and the system automatically reads them, it also allows you to keep a list of items and even suggests them, buy milk a week ago… it reminds you to get more, buy Plutonium-239 24,110 years ago… it reminds you to get half again. Easy.

I walked around my mine taking pictures and making notes until I had a comprehensive list to keep me motivated in the coming weeks.

Reasons I love my mine

1) It is to the centre of the Earth

2) It is quite sparkly

3) It has magma

4) It has cool rocks

5) Dennis once squeaked in here

I would have added more items but the SmartFolder does currently have a limit on five items per list. You might think that is a serious drawback, but I have run the whole of my career on lists of fewer than 5 items. Lists with more than 5 items – Pah!

Here’s my career list

1) Become a Doctor

2) Win the Junior Topiary competition

3) Get a Gerbil

4) Invent 52 items in a year

5) Drill into the centre of the Earth

Obviously I haven’t quite finished items 4 and 5 but if I can run my whole career in lists of five items or fewer then you can too and any longer lists are very silly. Get SmartFolder today!

Note to self: Prototype a SmartFolder Pro, with support for maximum 1-item lists for those overwhelmed by commitment.
